Volunteer position, unpaid
ABOUT THIS VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITY
Gift of Life, helping children beat cancer, is looking for a volunteer to assist its small fundraising team during the busy events period.
We’d welcome both experienced applicants, recent graduates or students who are looking to gain experience in communications and event management or hospitality.
Communications team assistance during fundraising campaigns and donor engagement at/around fundraising events will be the primary focus of this volunteering opportunity.
We’d particularly welcome experience in managing social media channels and creating donor engagement materials (copywriting or design).
A lot of our donors include members of the Russian-speaking community around the UK and Europe. Fluency in Russian would be a brilliant asset, though it’s not a must.
The volunteer will be expected to handle a wide range of duties related to Gift of Life’s charity events planning and implementation.
Ideal commitment will be 6 hours per week but can be spread out across several days as suits the candidate’s ability.
WHAT IS GIFT OF LIFE LOOKING FOR?
If you’re well organised, flexible, attentive to detail and have a positive attitude towards the charity supporters, donors, volunteers, we’d love you to join our small team. We mostly work from home and aim to meet-up one day in central London. Our fundraising events are also London-based.
PRACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS
This opportunity does not cover travel expenses to meetings and volunteer briefings, but we will cover a taxi after 9pm on fundraising event days.
Ideal commitment will be 6 hours per week but can be spread out across several days as suits candidate ability. We’re looking for at least 2 months weekly commitment, which will allow you to learn about the charity and its work and gain proper experience.
