The charity screening of “The Land of the Deaf “movie will take place  at 6 pm on November 9th, 2013 at The Empire Cinema as part of the 7th Russian Film Festival in London.

“The Land of the Deaf” is an award-winning movie celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. It was shot in a post-glasnost Moscow and was a poignant testimonial to the power of love and survival amidst the chaos of the capital. The movie was a debut for two wonderful Russian actresses – Dina Korzun and Chulpan Khamatova – who first met each other on the set of the movie and became friends. A few years later, they started a charity called Podari Zhizn (“Gift of Life”), which has grown into the leading and most powerful Russian charity for childhood cancer support.

Both Dina and Chulpan, who are now the two most famous Russian actresses, and prominent public figures leading the charity movement in Russia, will attend the screening for a discussion with the audience

Proceeds gained from ticket sales will go to the Gift of Life, thanks to the generous support of Kaspersky Lab, one of the fastest growing IT security companies worldwide that operates in more than 100 countries worldwide.
