OM, MARINA MOSYAKOVA
Marina Mosyakova has been working as Operations Manager of Gift of Life since May 2016. Initially joined the charity as a volunteer when it was established in 2011. Graduated from Moscow State University, BA Journalism, and University of Westminster, MA Marketing Communications.
Why did you start doing charity work?
I never thought of working in the third sector before I discovered Gift of Life. It was a family friend who introduced me to this idea of opening a sister charity of Podari Zhizn in London. From the beginning the project was very promising, and we had a good start. Since 2011 Gift of Life has grown into a well-known and trusted UK charity with Russian heritage. And I am proud to be part of this charity project, and apply my skills and experience to help it growing bigger.
How have you changed since working for the charity?
Working for Gift of Life has shifted my priorities. When I see kids and their families fighting for life, I very much appreciate what I have in my life, especially loving family and good state of my physical health. It is otherwise unfair to complain about life when you are a healthy person with caring family and friends. Thus, volunteering for Gift of Life simply made me happier.
