“I started to help Gift of Life absolutely accidentally – a translator was needed in a hospital and I went to replace a friend of mine who couldn’t be there. I must admit I felt uneasy and frightened, but all of those feelings disappeared once I met the young patient and her mum. It’s hard to describe that uplifting feeling when you are able to help, even with such a small thing. Later I learned that there was much more I could do to help ou,t and my creative skills have a lot of applications within the foundation’s practice.
I find the statement that charity benefits those who practise it very true. I guess it’s a bit selfish, but I truly enjoy being part of this foundation also because I feel it makes me a more fulfilled person.”
