Nikita is a three-year old boy from the town of Bataysk in Rostov Oblast.
Up until the age of two and a half, he was an ordinary, healthily growing child who made his parents happy. Then, all of a sudden he became weak and listless, went from being very social to very quiet, and refused to play with his favourite toys.
When he started to develop bruises all over his body, he was placed in the Krasnodar city hospital and diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. He was then transferred to the Centre for Children’s Haematology in Moscow.
His leukaemia developed complications, and in April he urgently needed ten packs of Erwinase. Thanks to donations from Gift of Life’s supporters, we were able to buy them. Now, Nikita is feeling very well and the doctors are preparing to send him home for rehabilitation.
