Arina Shishko is just 3 years old. She was born in the old Russian town of Gus’- Zhelezny, and lives there together with her mother, father and a cat called Ryzhik. In late autumn, Arina suddenly became weak, and developed a fever which proved impossible to eliminate. Arina was referred to a hospital in Ryazan, where she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
Arina received standard chemotherapy treatment with the medication Asparaginase. But on the sixth day, this resulted in a giant urticarial, i.e. a severe allergic reaction, as a result of which the girl almost suffocated. It was impossible to stop treatment, and for this reason doctors made the decision to exchange Asparaginase for Erwinase. Arina has received 8 packs of Erwinase, and she has now completed a course of treatment and come home.
