Anya is an 11-year old who came to Moscow from the town of Orel to be treated. She is an extraordinarily charming girl who smiles a lot and is a little shy. She is an active Internet user who effortlessly navigates through cyberspace. She is also very friendly and social, quick to reach out to people and ready to support her hospital friends in all their endeavours: drawing, making appliqués, sewing…
Anya had acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, with complications that emerged during treatment. In February, she turned out to be allergic to the crucial medicine Aspaginase, and she urgently needed to have it replaced with Erwinase.
The Gift of Life foundation’s donors collected money for Erwinase, and she received it without any problems. She has now completed her course of treatment and returned home. She is in good health.
