ALYOSHA PAVLOV

Alyosha is four years old, and he hails from the northern town of Murmansk. More than anything else, Alyosha loves football and playing with toy cars. According to his mother, up until a year and ten months he was perfectly healthy and a joy to his parents. Then the toddler suddenly became covered with bruises, stopped laughing, and started falling over all the time. In February 2010, he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

He underwent a course of treatment in Murmansk, and exactly two years after its completion, right as the doctors were ready to declare him healthy, he suffered a relapse.

There was nothing more they could do for Alyosha back home, and he became a patient of the Centre for Children’s Haematology. His treatment required 3 packs of Erwinase, which were purchased with funds gathered by the Gift of Life Foundation. Now, Alyosha is feeling well after having finished a block of chemotherapy. Two more remain. We wish Alyosha a swift recovery.
