GIFT OF LIFE’S CAUSE POWERED BY POETRY AND MUSIC
On the 5th of October Gift of Life raised over £80.000 at its charity event held at a
private members club in St James’s in central London.
The programme of the fundraising event “Pineapples in Champagne” was jointly put together by
Dina Korzun, Russian actress and co-founder of Gift of Life and Podari Zhizn, Maria Tretyakova, TV
presenter (Russia) and violinist Dmitri Berlinsky (US), whose renowned Trio members, pianist
Rustem Hayroudinoff (UK), and cellist Leonid Gorokhov (Germany) supported the musical part of
the evening. The charity event featured a special guest, leading screen and stage actor Sergey
“Our supporters’ and donors’ generosity from the event will benefit many children with
oncological and serious blood diseases in Gift of Life’s care. We are eternally grateful for their
funding. I would also like to thank our dear musicians, who travelled to London from different
corners of the world to make this concert happen, as well as my colleague Maria Tretyakova and
our friend Sergey Bezrukov, who took time off their busy schedules to be here to support Gift of
Life”, said Dina Korzun.
“Thank you to all who are not indifferent to Gift of Life’s cause. We can do a lot together to give
life”, said Sergey Bezrukov during his introduction speech.
The evening premiered a programme of Igor Severyanin’s poetry and Sergey Rachmaninov’s
music, as a dialogue of two great masters, whose lives intertwined at the dawn of the 20th
Dmitri Berlinsky explained his involvement with the Gift of Life and said, that “this evening is a
living proof that art can save the world. Gift of Life’s cause is so important and I am thrilled to see
how many people are concerned and involved in supporting the organisation”.
At the evening, a special painting of Natalia Osipova, world-known ballet dancer and Principal of
the Royal Ballet, donated by an acclaimed portrait artist Svetlana Cameron, as part of a unique
charity lot “Evening of Ballet with Natalia Osipova” was auctioned and sold for £10.000. In
addition to this, Gift of Life received £30.000 for a private photoshoot session with Natalia
Osipova, and £12.000 for a commission of a pastel portrait by Svetlana Cameron. There was
also a charity lottery, which helped to raise more than £1.700.
