Christie’s and “Gift of Life” are delighted to announce that the painting By the
sea created by the international renowned contemporary artist Vladimir
Dubossarsky sold today at Christie’s Russian Art Sale in London above the
estimates raising GBP22 000 for Russian children suffering of cancer.

Vladimir Dubossarky said: I am truly in awe of the founders and employees of the
Podari Zhizn and Gift of Life foundations, of their sense of civic responsibility and
their selfless hard work. I understand that there is a high price to be paid for such
things in these difficult times. But the results are measured in children’s lives
saved. That is why I have been working with the foundation, and why I will keep
doing so to the best of my ability. I know that together we can accomplish great
things. Let the laughter of children fill the world!

Prior to the sale, on 28th of November Christie’s organised children’s breakfast
preview of Russian Art in aid of the Gift of Lifefoundation. Experts showed
young guests and their parents the most exciting works on view and art school

Erwinase, a UK-made chemotherapy medicine. Every year, around 60 Russian
children with cancer develop a violent allergy to conventional chemotherapy
agents, and cannot receive any treatment without access to Erwinase.
